When Lucy runs away from Southfork in the middle of the night, taking only a guitar, and J.R.'s car, eventually she is picked up by a con man, Willie Guest, who includes Lucy, who's taken in by his good looks, and his flashy custom van, in some of his thefts and scams. When they first meet in nearby diner, he observes the police checking out J.R.'s car; he picks her up in his van, then asks if she stole the car, which she admits. When he asks her if she has money for gas, as she says she has $20, but also J.R.'s wallet, with one of credit cards! All of a sudden, Willie is thrilled to have latched on to one of the rich Ewings.

When Lucy realizes his motives of taking her with him, she wants out, but Guest kidnaps her, forcing her to stay with him. Bobby, and the police manage to track the two down, as they are able, after a shootout at a convenient store. as Lucy is returned by Bobby, who was able to coax Willie into getting near he and Lucy, as he offered him $2000 for him to release her, as he is able to get close enough to him to knock his gun out of his hand punch him and wrest him to the ground, as the police intervenes and handcuffs and arrest him and take him away as Lucy is safely to the ranch.
