Former Hollywood actress and model Karen Kopins Shaw (born October 10, 1961[1]) appeared in the role of political staffer Kay Lloyd on the original Dallas TV series, who helped Bobby Ewing regain the Ewing Oil trademark after J.R. lost it after the U.S. State Dept. shut the compnay down when he tries to raise domestic oil prices in a corporate scheme. She appears in a total of thirteen episodes in Seasons 11 and 13.

Life and careerEdit

Kopins was Miss Connecticut 1977, having entered the pageant as Miss Ridgefield. Kopins graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown, CT before moving to California to pursue an acting career.

Kopins starred in films Fast Forward, Creator, Once Bitten,[2] with Lauren Hutton and Jim Carrey and Jake Speed, and appeared in guest roles in various television shows, such as The A-Team and Riptide.[3] During season 11 of Dallas, she played Kay Lloyd, a love interest of Bobby Ewing.[1] She was cast as one of Charlie's Angels in the unaired spinoff Angels '88.

In 1990, Kopins married her high school sweetheart, Marc Shaw, with whom she has four children. The family resides in Redding, Connecticut.
