A few years earlier, Kristin's accidental drowning death at Southfork Ranch resulted in her boyfriend, Jeff Farraday, selling her infant son to Bobby for $25,000. Farraday was then killed by drug dealers over an unpaid $50,000 debt. Lisa, who is Jeff's sister, arrives in Dallas with the fake name Lisa Alden with a lawsuit, seeking custody of Christopher. When confronted outside her apartment by Bobby, Lisa states that Christopher is the only family she has left. Bobby offers her money to leave town. However, Lisa knows that Bobby bought Christopher from Jeff and says that she will win when she tells the judge this information. It turns out that J.R. is responsible for bringing Lisa to Dallas. He rented the apartment for her and his helping to back her claim for Christopher. When little Christopher tells the judge that he doesn’t want to be separated from his father, Lisa decides to drop her case.
